Meeting between the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Permanent Secretary of Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On 17 December 2025 Mr. Mahdavi Raja Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Federal Republic of Nigeria held a meeting with the Permanent Secretary of Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on the expansion of political economic commercial and international cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the strategic importance of Nigeria in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Nigeria was described as a gateway to West Africa and an important partner for broader engagement and cooperation with the African continent.
