Meeting with Mr. Femi Fani Kayode

I had the pleasure of hosting H.E. Chief Femi Fani-Kayode for a working lunch which provided an excellent opportunity for a very constructive and substantive exchange of views on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.

We had fruitful discussions on Iran–Nigeria relations, regional and international developments, Nigeria–South Africa relations, South-South cooperation, and the important role that Iran and Nigeria can play within the BRICS framework. We also exchanged views on the latest developments and emerging issues at the international level, as well as the considerable potential for strengthening cooperation among countries of the Global South.

As always, I greatly enjoyed my conversation with him. He is a distinguished Nigerian statesman and political figure, with extensive political and executive experience at the highest levels in Nigeria, deep knowledge, and a remarkable command of domestic, regional, and international affairs. It is always a privilege and a pleasure to exchange views with him.

I sincerely wish him every success and accomplishment in his forthcoming assignment as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to South Africa. I am confident that his political experience, knowledge, and leadership will contribute greatly to further strengthening Nigeria’s relations with South Africa.
