Meeting Between the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

His Excellency Mr. Gholamreza Mahdavi Raja Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Nigeria held a meeting and talks with H.E. Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on August 20 2026.

The meeting was held to become acquainted and to extend congratulations on Mr. Enikanolaiye’s recent appointment to the position. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening and expanding the friendly relations and cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on a broad range of issues of mutual interest and areas of bilateral, regional, and international cooperation, including political, economic, and other fields of common interest. They also stressed the need to make full use of the existing potential and capacities to further develop and deepen relations between the two countries, as well as to maintain consultations and cooperation between Iran and Nigeria on important regional and international issues.
